DISCOVER ASHBOURNE

A fantastic project to enhance my local town's online presence and promote its businesses and resources effectively.

Website Design by Wood&Co

To capture the essence and aesthetics of my town, Clive Booth and I started by collecting images that represent the look and feel of the area. These images highlight the town's natural beauty, landmarks, architecture, and other visually appealing aspects that make it unique and attractive to both residents and tourists.

Another set of images were gathered to create a directory of utilities and public areas within the town. These images serve a practical purpose by helping website visitors easily find information about essential services, public spaces, and amenities. This directory enhances the website's functionality and usability.

Following the directory of utilities and public areas, the next step was to create a similar directory but focused on local businesses. This was an excellent way to support and promote the town's economy by showcasing the diverse range of businesses available to residents and visitors.

With potentially up to 30 businesses to photograph in a single day, selective shooting was necessary. This meant carefully choosing the angles, compositions, and shots that best showcase each business. This ensured that the images effectively communicate what each business has to offer.

A crucial part of this project was to make sure that I captured high-quality images before moving on to the next business. This included checking for factors like proper lighting, clarity, and composition to ensure that the images will effectively represent the businesses online.

Creating a comprehensive and visually appealing online presence for my local town was incredibly rewarding. This initiative not only benefits local businesses by promoting their services but also enhances the experience of residents and visitors who can easily access information about the town and its offerings through the website. It's a great example of community involvement and digital marketing for the betterment of your town.
